DETROIT ROCKS THE RUNWAY HOLDS OPEN CASTING CALL FOR RUNWAY MODELS for The 32nd THE AFRICAN WORLD FESTIVAL

DETROIT, June 22, 2014 – DETROIT ROCKS THE RUNWAY AT THE 32nd AFRICAN WORLD FESTIVAL – Michigan’s premier annual fashion event – will host an open casting call to find existing and undiscovered models for its runway shows, taking place August 16, 2014 at The Charles H Wright Museum.

The casting call will take place 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday, July. 08, 2014  in the Cafe at The Charles H Wright Museum, located at 315 E Warren Ave, Detroit, MI 48202. The casting call is open to the public. No previous runway experience is required.

Models are asked to attend the open call with a headshot and a full-body photo, although they need not be professional prints.

This show would like to highlight Models who embrace natural hair, however it is not a requirement.

All sizes welcome.

All candidates in attendance will have their head shots and sizes reviewed. Some candidates will be invited to stay and walk for members of the DETROIT ROCKS THE RUNWAY Executive Committee. Selected models must be available to walk the runway at DETROIT ROCKS THE RUNWAY on August 16, 2014.

DETROIT ROCKS THE RUNWAY is an annual,  fashion and live music event  and show created to put a spotlight on the freshest cultural apparel design talent representing the African diaspora.

The THE 32nd AFRICAN WORLD FESTIVAL is a three-day festival that will include performances, poetry, arts and crafts, African drumming and dance, hundreds of vendors, ethnic foods, and events for all ages!

A parent or guardian must accompany those under age 18.Models will register and be measured.
